Trust me, the boomerang is better looking than me!

This is to note that an attempt has been made to form a worldwide boomerang chamber of commerce special interest group (SIG) to help coordinate the interests of the boomerang businesses of the world with the sport as defined by IFBA bylaws. An initial meeting took place involving Roger Perry of Rangs Boomerangs, Patrice of LMI-FOX, Stephane Margeurite of Wallaby Boomerangs, Ricardo Marx of bume.com.br/ and Dana of boomerangs.com at the 2008 World Boomerang Championships.

We achieved some agreement on the concept of working together to help promote the sport worldwide. Some money was committed to the project. We are still in the beginning stages of this effort though and would welcome all worldwide boomerang companies to participate. For further information please contact dana@boomerangs.com.

We sincerely appreciate any cooperation we can obtain from the IFBA board and membership. One of our first joint projects with the IFBA is boomerangs.tv, which we can all use promote the IFBA and the sport itself. Our concept is that chamber of commerce member companies can help fund all IFBA websites, DVDs, training and promotional materials and other media outreach efforts and in return would receive sponsorship links on the websites, any DVDs produced...etc. We want to help you increase the worldwide marketing exposure of the sport.

We shot over 6 hours of video at the 2008 WBC and have access to several thousand high quality photos as well. We can definitely create additional media which will help fund the organization and promote the sport. For example a "how to throw boomerangs" DVD is a project in progress, A 2008 WBC highlights DVD or  2008 WBC documentary are easily produced from current footage available. These media properties might be helpful as both fundraisers for the organization as well as promotional aids for the sport. In return for producing and paying for these IFBA marketing aids, participating vendors would like to be listed as sponsors. All sales from these creations would be distributed through the IFBA itself or the regional country organizations they are distributed in ( for example the USBA in the US ).

Further update on the above. Please note that the above proposed chamber of commerce companies are still in the exploratory phase and no official organization or SIG has been established. The only projects which have been proposed through that SIG are the ones proposed so far by Dana Larrabee (me). I do not speak for the others and this posting is not intended to imply that every video, dvd, marketing material our companies do is intended to be channeled through the ifba or any national organization. Not every vendor will probably end up involved in these projects but we are encouraging that we all particpate for the good of each of us worldwide.

As I do have some individual projects in progress I have proposed the transition of boomerangs.tv to become a ifba "property" and I also am proposing that a "how to throw boomerangs" video and/or a "WBC 2008 highlights video" be IFBA property with all proceeds going to the IFBA or individual national organization involved in their distribution.
